Läti Transpordi Ministeeriumi heaks töötav Jānis Eiduks vastab twitteris sellele, et leedukate arvates lätlased toetavad Leedu seisukohta Rail Baltica trassi osas: "Meanwhile Latvia is surprised on such statement..." ehk lätlased on üllatunud sellise avalduse üle ja rõhutab, et leedulased ütlesid, et lätlased toetavad mitte lätlased ütlevad, et lätlased toetavad (Lithuanians said, that latvians... Not latvians themselves.)
Veebuari alguses toimub Balti riikide peaministrite kohtumine kus poliitilisel tasandil tõstetakse Rail Baltica küsimus. Praegune seis nõuabki ainult poliitilist lahendust. Leedu võibki jätkata väljamõeldud põhjuste ja vastuolude otsimist niikaua kuni sulgub rahastusaken Rail Baltica rahastamiseks. Leedul pole tegelikult sisulisi küsimusi mida arutada, vaid ainult poliitilised.

Summary in English: Jānis Eiduks from Latvian Transport Ministry in twitter responds to the statement that Latvians support the Lithuanian position on Rail Baltica route: "Meanwhile Latvia is surprised on such
statement..." and emphasaizes that Lithuanians have said that Latvians have said not latvians have said that Latvians have said.
In the past week a small diplomatic crisis has been occurred between Estonia and Lithuania since Estonian transport minister Juhan Parts has said that Lithuanians are fools to waste time with development of Rail Baltica project. Parts has later explained that the journalist has picked some words from the lengthy phone conversation and published them in the blog where the words sounded worse than actually meant. As it seems today, there is no permanent damage from this incident but the "Lithuanian issue" remains. Early February a meeting between prime ministers of Baltic countries will be held where Rail Baltica will brought up as a political topic for discussions. Today´s situation demands only political solution. Lithuania can continue with making illogical statements and bringing non-problems to the table so long that window of opportunity for building Rail Baltica closes for good. Lithuania does not have any real questions to discuss, only political ones. No wonder that transport minister Parts has said some improper words!
RBR blog holds the view that Estonia and Latvia should not alter their standpoint, instead Lithuania must surrender to the Tallinn-Pärnu-Riia-Paneveźys-Kaunas-Poland border high speed train track option. Because CEF regulation does no see any opportunity to include Vilnius section with high speed railroad. Lithuanian resistance is futile since there is no real opportunity to include Vilnius via high speed railroad - it only keeps back a large investment into Baltics railroad infrastructure.
